Finally some biking!

Went out for a mountain bike ride today for the first time since Christmas. It was quite cold which meant that the ground, which has been so wet and incredibly muddy for the last year, is now lovely and rock hard since it is frozen! There was some nice singletrack and also a wonderful opportunity to try out my new Christmas gadget I got from John for Christmas, a bike GPS!

Interesting to hear about your bike GPSr! I bought my 1st GPSr about a year ago, a Garmin Nuvi200. It is very useful when driving in Johannesburg or Pretoria (haven't been to Cape Town or Durban since I bought it). About half a year ago I bought a Garmin 60CSX, which is handheld and very nice for hiking and Geocaching. A couple of months ago it couldn't be "seen" by my PC, so I bought a Garmin Oregon 300, which is a lovely GPSr, making it possible to do "paperless" Geocaching, and it comes with topographic maps, which is VERY nice for hiking. I sent the 60CSX for service a few weeks ago.
I think the bike GPSr must be very nice for mountain biking, but I will probably never be mountain biking. BTW: Nice picture!
